 Since its establishment in 1989 Digital
Systems was to first company that started to offer access to
Internet in Bulgaria - in the beginning e-mail and later on full
access to the global network.
Currently Digital Systems, as being the first and leading Internet provider in Bulgaria, possess the highest know-how in the country. The company is capable to provide reliable high-speed connection to the global computer network. Digital Systems have multiple independent international links to Internet -- International channel via LEVEL3 transported through the network of Nettera Ltd. -- International channel via PANTEL transported through the network of ITD Network Ltd. -- International channel via Bulgarian Telecommunication Company transported trough the MAN network of BTC AD. -- International channel via TPN transported through TPN Ltd. Digital Systems have a high-speed fiber optic MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) connection to other Internet providers in Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv. The IP addresses are provided to the clients free of charge, according to the clients' needs. Digital Systems uses BGP4 protocol for traffic routing within its network and with other networks (on the territory of the country and abroad), as well as with its clients who has their own autonomous system. All the connections of Digital Systems function independently and the traffic is rerouted automatically among them as it is balanced among the connections. Digital Systems has own centers for observation and management of its network. For the realization of videoconference connections, the infrastructure of Digital Systems allows installation and support of servers for audio and video emission. In order to provide high-quality services, Digital Systems offers local access points (Points of Presence or POPs) in 62 towns in the Bulgaria, 29 of which are regional centers. In the towns Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vidin, Kazanluk, Kyustendil, Sofia, Pernik and Pazardjik ISDN connection to the Internet is offered. The connections between the towns are via digital channels. Digital Systems provides Internet services to a number of schools and universities, research institutes, departments, big economic organizations, embassies, companies and individual users. For example: Universities - Plovdiv University, The Academy of Economics in Svishtov,Shoumen University, etc. Banks - United Bulgarian Bank, DSK Bank, Central Cooperative Bank, etc. Big enterprises - Navtex Petrolium Bulgaria Jsc, LUKoil Neftochim - Bourgas, Agropolichim - Devnia, Port of Varna, Speedy, etc. Government Organizations - Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and the Agricultural Reform, Ministry of Regional Development, National Social Security Institute, Committee of Youth and Sport, etc. Embassies - France, Hungary, Uruguay, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Russia, etc. Others - churches, foundations and non-profit organizations. Digital Systems Ltd. has its own dispatcher system for 24 hours observation of its infrastructure.
